A while ago, my school art class was encouraged to participate in a cancer initiative using used bikes. I have no idea about the specifics, but we were to make modifications to the transportation tool to honor someone we knew who died of cancer; the bikes were later to be posted around the city. This project honors my late grandfather, who died of lung cancer. I wanted the bike to celebrate his life, instead of emphasizing the death, so the bike is cheerful and contains phrases from his little black book of sayings. I completed the project alongside my good friend Iva, a fellow artist at www.creativaty.blogspot.com.
